"Sicko is a comedy about 45 million people with no health care in the richest country on Earth."
This is the description of the soon to be released movie by Michael Moore called "Sicko". As with his other films, Moore takes on the establishment with a viggor, in hopes to persuade you to see things his way.
Now, as a natural health guy, I take a few jabs at the health care industry too. However, my beef is typically assosiated with the immediate push to use synthetic drugs and surgeries as opposed to equally viable natural cures. Moore most certainly will take an idealogical approach, which no doubt will demonize the republicans (a given) and make our doctors out to be spawns of the devil. Melodramatic indeed!
I am curious to see the film, as I am sure some valid points will be made. Although I don't particularly care for Moore's films, he certainly does entertain. I will be anxiously awaiting. Sicko open on June 29, 2007.

Preventive Care |
As a Human Resources professional, I have gotten used to the idea of thinking ahead and planning a course of action. What a nightmare having to react to every situation would be! This is true in nearly every profession and our health is no different.
Natural health is about doing the things now (lifestyle changes, exercise, proper diet, etc...) to prevent problems later. I can't count the times that I have had an employee who has had a heart attack, or some other progressive illness tell me they wish they would have done more to prevent their illness.
Often, it's the simple choices we make that make the biggest difference. Things like drinking, smoking, and overeating obviously play a major role. They are in your control to avoid! It's also true that to be truly healthy, one must be proactive to remove dangers from your place of living. Check out my article about toxic products in the home for more information.
What about proper supplementation? The small expense of a multi-vitamin will far and away offset the sickness associated with nutritional deficiencies. The additional expense for organic foods? Again, the expense can be offset by the avoidance of the unwanted and bad for you processed foods.
It's been said before, but healthy living is about a holistic approach to your lifestyle and what you surround yourself with. Make the right choices, and be naturally healthy.
